The Windsor Public Library welcomes Debby Reelitz back for a 90 minute program that will teach patrons how people wrote during the colonial period; what they wrote with and wrote on. Using a projector, I will share pictures of famous colonists, their desks and writing. Samples will range from Phillis Wheatley to George Washington to John Hancock. Next, all the participants will learn how to set up their own writing desk, paper, nibs and ink. Lettering samples and instructions will be provided so participants can write in cursive with dip nib and ink. The end goal is to create a signature for themselves that is inspired by signatures from colonial times.
Registration is required. Registration will open on June 1. Please call the Reference Desk at 860-285-1918 with any questions. Sponsored by Windsor Library Association.
