Music & Poetry Showcase

Saturday, April 4, 2026 (3:00 PM - 4:30 PM) (EDT)

Description

Enjoy an afternoon of poetry, music, and spoken word by the collaborators of The In-Between artists. Hartford poet Brett Maddux creates poetry inspired by the photography and video of Jasmine Jones, and the gentle haunting lyrics of musician Figurine influences Christy Corey’s illustrations. Lastly, Diana Abouchacra’s installation work is in conversation with the ephemeral and existential poetry by her sister, Maya Abouchacra and spoken word written by her brother, Ryan.

Free to attend, all are welcome.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Figurine (Ashly LaRosa) is a Hartford, CT based musician who writes lil songs straight from her lil (edit: big) heart. When she’s not crying mid-song, you can find her on the couch with her cats, plowing through a giant bag of Honey Wise BBQ chips. Figurine’s latest release was her 2025 single, “Voyeur,” put out by Funnybone Records. Her songs often confront vulnerable feelings of jealousy, desperation, and loneliness in losing and finding love.

Brett A. Maddux is a poet from Hartford.

Ryan Abouchacra is an aspiring artist known by “Fated.” He is working to inspire others through thought-provoking songs and poems. Currently, he works in the AV industry and loves writing lyrics and thinking of new songs in his spare time.

Maya Abouchacra is a creative from Connecticut who enjoys putting thoughts to paper.
