Diana Abouchacra is a Lebanese American mixed-media and installation artist. She works in a variety of mediums including printmaking, mixed media, installation, video and sound art. Art making is an intuitive exploration for Diana, one that helps to process emotions where other approaches have fallen short. Themes that Diana’s artwork touches on include grief, vulnerability, ephemerality, multiplicity, and transformation. She received her M.F.A. from Louisiana State University, and is currently a Keyhole Artist-in-Residence at the Ely Center for Contemporary Art. Most recently, Diana’s work has been exhibited in the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, where she was awarded The Helis Foundation Art Prize for Best in Show.
“Artmaking intrigues me when there is no fixed plan. When I release the need to predict the outcome of the piece, the surprises, the shifts, the unplanned moments—that’s where the real work happens.”

New England-based illustrator Christy Corey’s art is rooted in community through a love of collaboration and connection. Promoting joy in every delicious bite of life, her delectable creations draw inspiration from cherished food memories, vibrant landscapes, and quiet moments. She finds contentment, excitement, and fulfillment in the creation of freshly painted passages in watercolor and acrylic and savors the opportunity to pass those feelings along. Christy graduated from the University of Hartford’s Low Residency MFA in Illustration program and teaches Illustration at the University of Connecticut.
“Collaborating with artists of different disciplines introduces fresh ideas into what can otherwise be a very private process, allowing for unexpected connections and associations.”

Her works center around collaborating with underground scenes, subcultures, and artists. Her first solo exhibition in 2016 showcased Voices: Volume 1, Ballroom. She has since directed and produced multiple short films, music videos, and commercials, and was honored with the Emerging Creative Award at the 2024 Connecticut Arts Awards.
“Everything I create starts with paying attention to the world around me. When I slow down and really look, what I notice naturally guides the shape and feeling of my work.”
